Anyone, regardless of stature or tenure in the Alzheimer's Community will benefit from watching this video.
A good understanding of how Alzheimer's effects the hippocampus in the brain, and how plagues and tangles spread throughout the brain and cause the various stages of Alzheimer's is important for anyone that wants to deal effectively with an Alzheimer's patient.
It really does help to understand what is going on in the brain of someone suffering from Alzheimer's. Understanding that Alzheimer's patients past a certain stage cannot store answers to questions will help you accept the problems that come from being asked repeated questions, or from repetitive behaviors. The understanding of what are causing these phenomana in an Alzheimers; patient are a first necessary step to effective Alzheimer's caregiving.
If you come to this understanding you will stop "venting", and you will find the comfort zone in Alzheimer's World.
This video will increase your understanding of Alzheimer's, and help you form the necessary frame of reference to deal with the disease effectively.
