Imagine this, a nurse chooses a job that pays less money because the job is more satisfying.

During my working career I learned that a good. positive working environment increases worker productivity and worker satisfaction. I look at this way. For about 40 years you are going to get up in the morning and go to work. It is a lot easier to get up and go to work when you are happy and feel good about your job. It is drudgery to go to work when you don't like your job. Forty years of drudgery?


This explains why the video below caught my attention. Doesn't it make sense to believe that if a nurse is working in a "team" oriented, goal oriented environment that s/he is more likely to a better job?

I also learned that success breads success. In the case of a hospital environment I am certain that when a "team" starts treating patients better, and with greater effectiveness, they are likely to start feeling better about themselves, and they will begin to take "pride' in what they are doing.

Pride, satisfaction, feeling good about what you are accomplishing.
