One thing I learned while caring for Dotty, no matter what, a person living with Alzheimer's can always surprise you with their ability to do something you can no longer imagine.

The importance of discussion, conversation, socialization and activity is often overlooked in Alzheimer's and dementia care.


It might help if you think of
a person living with dementia as blossoming
rather than withering
If you don't help and guide a persons living with dementia they will likely stop doing things you have come to expect as automatic.

They might stop talking if left alone for long periods of time. You have to work at it every day.

The video below shows that there is more there than we can imagine, and persons living with dementia can do things if we give them the right catalyst.
