"How Do I Give Back?"

By Max Wallack
Alzheimer's Reading Room

In one comment under Bob’s birthday wishes was Sweetnanjo’s comment, “How Do I Give Back?” We all want to give back in return for the gift of the Alzheimer’s Reading Room that Bob has given us. So, what can we do that would be important to Bob?

Bob thrives on sharing with others what he has learned. He’s a brilliant man with a Ph.D. He was successful on Wall Street, and he taught at the college level at a very young age. What does Bob want? I think Bob wants to share. His brilliant mind has figured out practical solutions to many problems faced by Alzheimer’s patients and by their caregivers. He calls this “bunkhouse logic.” I think it’s bunkhouse logic only to a brain at the level of Bob’s.

Bob has asked us all, in the past, to please share his articles with as many people as possible. That’s what Bob wants. That’s what Bob understands will make the biggest difference. That’s how we can all give back.

I think each of us that is helped by the Alzheimer’s Reading Room should make a point of reviewing the articles here that have been most important to us, and then repost at least 5 articles over the next week to our facebook pages, twitter, or some blog that will help the audience Bob is trying to reach.

That is my present to Bob. That’s how I will “Give Back” to Bob. Please take a few minutes and share your favorite articles. It will be a birthday gift that, I think, Bob will value, and you will help many other people as well.

Happy Birthday, Bob!
